How To Apply & FAQ

PLEASE READ OUR ENTIRE CONTRACT PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR A PUPPY

Our contract is extensive and thorough. It is not for everyone. Ultimately we want to ensure the proper care of our puppies for their entire lifetime. We also want to know that our puppies will never end up in rescues or shelters. Please read the entire contract and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Ridgeline Retrievers reserves the right to deny a puppy to anyone we do not feel would be a good fit at any time prior to the final payment being made. If this happens a refund will be issued.

Do you have a waiting list and is there a deposit required to be on the list?

We will no longer be adding to our waiting list. Our current policy is for you to join our news letter and follow us on Facebook to keep up with litter announcements. That saves both myself and you time when it comes to getting the puppy you want!

Our current wait is 1 year or more!

What food do you recommend?

We highly recommend that you continue to feed your puppy pawTree brand food for a minimum of one year. The first year of a puppy's life is the most critical for growth and development and it is essential that they receive proper nutrition. We believe in the nutrition that pawTree provides so much that when you use it as we suggest we increase our warranty to FIVE years.

Why do you require spay/neuter?

SPAYING OR NEUTERING YOUR DOG IS HEALTHIER FOR THEM

  • Neutering a male eliminates the possibility of testicular tumors and efficiently reduces the chance of prostate problems.

  • Neutering decreases the chance of perianal tumors and hernias, that are in older, unneutered males. Neutered males are less likely to escape a yard and find a female in heat. This reduces the chance of them being hit by cars, getting into fights, or lost.

  • Females spayed before their first estrous cycle reduces her chance of mammary tumors, ovarian cancer and uterine infection A spayed female eliminates the neighborhood stray males from coming over or through your fence to breed with her.

  • Giving birth to a litter can be dangerous to your pet. What if they give birth when you’re not home and a puppy gets stuck and she can't get it out. You will have dead dogs on your hands.

  • There can be many serious risks involved with breeding. The mother can develop complications and require expensive medical treatment. The mother can die because of complications and leave you to do her job. Buying formula, finding proper bottles, knowing how much to feed and when. Getting them to eliminate. That is a fun one!

Breeding is not for the faint of heart. It requires much thought and careful consideration. Its costly and sometimes exhausting. It should be done to better the breed and not just because you want your dog to have one litter.
